January 2022: Three performers, one VJ - a pandemic. All at home in front of their computers with many unanswered questions: Can performance art work online? Can the problems of the world be solved in a performative video meeting? And...when will we meet again? 8 months later, the four finally meet live.
Were they successful? What problems do still exist? Can art make the world better at all? And who defines what is "better"? Can it even be done with four people, or doesn't it take much more?
In their international co-production, Schmitt&Schulz (Mainz) and Kassandra Production (Denmark) investigate which artistic strategies are necessary to initiate social change.
In the process, they get entangled in contradictions, have fruitless discussions about best practices and search desperately for allies - all of which leads, after entertaining loops and detours, to one big live performance party. Because there are always good reasons to come together and celebrate. Or are there?
When will we meet again? Staging had its premiere on 2.9.2022 as part of the "Out Of Space" festival in Mainz. A complete recording of the 2nd performance is available here.
